First Day of School!

Because of the hurricane we had no power for the "real" first day of school, and we weren't certain we would be going this morning. But somehow it all worked out and both of our schools had power. The high school just up the road from us still doesn't have any power...too bad.
I want you to notice the shirts the boys chose to wear for their first day of school. They are funny. I gave each boy two new shirts (And of course Mr Music had already bought the one he wanted to wear on the first day.) I was curious as to who would wear what. Needless to say I wasn't surprised at the one Mr Right chose. When I saw it I KNEW he had to have it. And when I gave it to him... I think it was love at first sight. If you can't read it..it says 'I'd Rather Be Sleeping'. Perfect.
Mr Music of course wore his Double Bubble shirt. He has high goals for this year. Like asking questions when he doesn't know what to do, and trying to understand his peers. (Good luck with that one. Let me know if you have any success.) Here they are. I had to make them wait a minute to go to the bus stop to take a couple of pics. I was surprised at how well Mr Music dealt with the pause.
Mr Super doesn't actually start school for another week. But he was ready with is Lightning McQueen t-shirt and backpack. I think he was a bit disappointed that his bus never came, but we kept busy during the day to keep his mind off it. Pre-K here I come!
Mr Perfect is at the top of the food chain this year. He told me on the way to school how elementary school is like a kingdom. He started off by telling me kindergartners were like serfs, and proceeded through the grades until he got to his grade the KINGS and QUEENS of the school. Joe Cool!
Mr Prince was ready to go this morning. He hasn't been eagerly anticipating going back to school so I thought we might be in for it a bit today, but he did super! In fact he had a perfect day. GO PRINCE! Homework didn't make him happy, but he worked well through school. Hey you can't have everything.
Mr D.A. was SO excited about going back to school. You can't see it in this picture, but his shirt says, 'Must Love Dogs'. He too LOVED his shirt at first sight. I knew he would. He had a great first day and told me he loves his teacher and new classroom. And then he came home and played with his best friend next door. They don't have the same teacher this year, but they are determined to remain best friends despite that obstacle. They are cute. (He also wanted to be photographed beside his tomato plant. We've gotten a few good tomatoes from it, although they don't grow nearly fast enough for D.A. If you look hard there is a little red off to the right, it's almost ready to pick and eat.)
So, here is my elementary crew right before we got in the van to go to school. Gosh I love my boys!

Earthquakes and Hurricanes

So...this last week within a few days of each other we had both an earthquake and a hurricane.
Cute story from the earthquake.
As the house started shaking I was inside with Mr Music and Mr Perfect and the other boys were out on the trampoline. Immediately Mr Music called out, "STOP THAT BOYS!" We both thought for a second that maybe they had come in and were jumping up and down hard enough to shake the house. A split second after it started I realized what was going on and tried to explain it to Mr Music. The three of us sat and listened to things rattle for a few moments after the shaking had stopped and then we went outside to see how the other boys were. I was especially concerned because Mr Prince is paranoid about weather and natural disasters. They hadn't noticed anything. They were too busy having fun jumping on the trampoline. HA!
But then a few days later we prepared for Hurricane Irene.
We gathered things inside and waited. I knew from the reports we would get the hardest part of the storm while the boys slept. For that I was grateful. But the entire day before it rained! Mr Music went outside in the rain for quite a while. I kept asking him to come inside and he refused. When it was finally raining too hard for him to stay outside he came in sopping wet and told me. "Mom, I kept singing 'rain rain go away come again another day' but I don't think it was listening." Oh how sweet! He knows how scared Mr Prince is of bad weather and wanted to protect his little brother from the rain. Precious!

Thanks to my awesome friend!

I just wanted to put a thank you out there for my sweet friend who sat with me here on the couch late last night and worked with my blog until we were able to undo the weird glitch which was causing me to go MAD!
(Not crazy, literally MAD!)
So, after we found the source of the problem and fixed it we revamped! I hope you like the new look. I am getting used to it. I'm not sure if I do or not....
(Change is not bad. Change is not bad. Change is not bad.)

Thanks sweet friend! *hugs*

Blogger is broken!

I was going to blog tonight but I just can't! Something is wrong with blogger. It doesn't matter what I do, it isn't working. As you can tell just by looking at this blog it isn't formatted correctly. It's been this way for about a week. If they don't fix it soon I will go insane!!! (But I might go insane for other causes in the meantime so no one would really notice would they?) HA! INSANE!

Dubble Bubble

Here is the latest item Mr Music has purchased. He has had his eye on this shirt for SEVERAL months now. He only put it on long enough for me to take pictures. He wants to wear it on the first day of school. He can't wait to show his friends.
He has already ordered his next item. When we receive the package I will post a pic. He can't wait, they are supposed to come within a week.

Soccer Camp

A few weeks ago I sent a few of my boys to a week of soccer camp. By the end of the week they were not only more skilled, but they were all deeply sun kissed and their hair showed the signs of the sun as well. It was a crazy week. (I accidentally signed them up to go to a park which was CLEAR across town.) So we drove a lot. And the other boys and I found errands to busy us while they played and were grateful a park was right next to the field. What a great week of summer it was.
Here is Mr Right and Mr Perfect. They did great! In fact in the "world series" they played at the end of the week their teams did quite well. Here is Mr D.A. He LOVED soccer camp and wanted it to last the whole summer. We will have to sign him up again next year. (Maybe for a few camps.)
Here are Mr Prince and Mr Super playing at the park next to the field. On this day we went swimming right after camp finished. So, we all waited in our swimming suits for the boys to finish. Swimming AND soccer camp. The boys all thought this was the best day ever!
