Because of the hurricane we had no power for the "real" first day of school, and we weren't certain we would be going this morning. But somehow it all worked out and both of our schools had power. The
high school just up the road from us still doesn't have any power...too bad.
I want you to notice the shirts the boys chose to wear for their first day of school. They are funny. I gave each boy two new shirts (And of course Mr Music had already bought the one he wanted to wear on the first day.) I was curious as to who would wear what. Needless to say I wasn't surprised at the one Mr Right chose. When I saw it I KNEW he had to have it. And when I gave it to him... I think it was love at first sight. If you can't read it..it says 'I'd Rather Be Sleeping'. Perfect.

Mr Music of course wore his Double Bubble shirt. He has high goals for this year. Like asking questions when he doesn't know what to do, and trying to understand his peers. (Good luck with that one. Let me know if you have any success.)

Here they are. I had to make them wait a minute to go to the bus stop to take a couple of pics. I was surprised at how well Mr Music dealt with the pause.

Mr Super doesn't actually start school for another week. But he was ready with is Lightning McQueen t-shirt and backpack. I think he was a bit disappointed that his bus never came, but we kept busy during the day to keep his mind off it.
Pre-K here I come!

Mr Perfect is at the top of the food chain this year. He told me on the way to school how elementary school is like a
kingdom. He started off by telling me
kindergartners were like serfs, and proceeded through the grades until he got to his grade the KINGS and QUEENS of the school. Joe Cool!

Mr Prince was ready to go this morning. He hasn't been eagerly anticipating going back to school so I thought we might be in for it a bit today, but he did super! In fact he had a perfect day. GO PRINCE! Homework didn't make him happy, but he worked well through school. Hey you can't have everything.

Mr D.A. was SO excited about going back to school. You can't see it in this picture, but his shirt says, 'Must Love Dogs'. He too LOVED his shirt at first sight. I knew he would. He had a great first day and told me he loves his teacher and new classroom. And then he came home and played with his best friend next door. They don't have the same teacher this year, but they are determined to remain best friends despite that
obstacle. They are cute. (He also wanted to be photographed beside his tomato plant. We've gotten a few good tomatoes from it, although they don't grow nearly fast enough for D.A. If you look hard there is a little red off to the right, it's almost ready to pick and eat.)

So, here is my elementary crew right before we got in the van to go to school. Gosh I love my boys!
