My sweetheart teases me about wanting another baby. I don't, but I do wish I had a time machine and could just go back for a moment every once in a while and enjoy those hours of infancy, and toddlerhood all over again.
I love each and every stage they go through and always rejoice when I realize they've entered a new one.
I currently have one entering the years of dances and youth conferences away from home, another going into the teens, another on the verge of middle school, etc, etc, etc. Progress never ends, the "stages" of life last until this earth life moves to the next.
Enjoy it as it goes. It's not the destination but the journey that makes the difference.
