I've heard about bets of how long it would be from the time Dad got home until we gave a certain major haircut. If it hadn't been for the play it would have been much earlier, and not because Dad wanted it, because HE wanted it. He actually asked for a military cut but his mother was too attached to the long hair. Keeping it this long was my idea, not his.
